African American-slave and free-served on both sides of the war for independence from the British Crown. The British actively recruited slaves belonging to so-called Patriot masters. Because of man power shortages George Washington lifted the ban that he previously imposed on Black enlistment in the Continental Army on January 16,1776. Small all Black Units were formed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts; many slaves were promised freedom for serving. Another All Black Unit came from Haiti with French forces.
It is estimated that 5,000 brave,courageous, heroic ,bold African American Patriots served gallantly as soldiers for the Continental Army,while more than 20,000 fought for the British cause.
Revolutionary War
1775 * The Earl of Dunmore's Ethiopian Regiment was the first regiment made up of slaves soldiers promised their freedom in exchange for fighting on the Red Coat side(British ). John Murray ,Earl of Dunmore (1732-1809 ), British Royal Governor of Virginia,issued a proclamation promising freedom to slaves who joined the British forces.

On April 19, 1775 ,Lemuel Haynes, Peter Salem , Pomp Blackman , Caesar Ferrit and his son , John Prince Estabrook and Samuel Craft were the Blacks known to have participated in the defense of Concord Bridge,the first encounter in the armed phase of the American Revolution.

Salem Poor (1758?-?) was the first Black soldier to win a battle commendation. A free man of color, Poor enlisted in a Massachusetts militia company ,and on June 17,1775 fought valiantly at the battle of Bunker Hill ( fought on Breed,s Hill ) where he wounded a British officer. Several officers petitioned the Continental Congress to recognize his bravery as a brave and gallant Soldier. " There is no record that he received such notice. Other Blacks at the battle were Barzillai Lew, Cuff Whittemore , Titus Coburn , Charlestown Eads , Peter Salem ,
Sampson Taylor , and Caesar Brown.

1778 * The First Rhode Island Regiment was the first and only all Black Unit to fight in the American Revolution. On February 2, 1778,Rhode Island passed the first slave enlistment act. In August,the regiment of 125 Blacks-95 among them slaves-successfully sustained three attacks by the British,allowing the rest of the American Army to make a successful retreat at the Battle of Rhode Island.

*500 proud Haitians troops under Les Chasseurs de Saint Dominque fought gallantly with the Patriots at the Siege of Savannah on October 9,1779 and a Bronze Statue of Four Haitian soldiers stands proudly at Franklin Square in Savannah Georgia today. Haitian troops also fought with Simon Bolivar. Haitian troops never fought anyone because of race or ethnicity; They only fought for liberation and freedom.
The lessons the Haitians would learn at the Battle of Savannah helped them to beat the wicked and ungodly French who had enslaved them on the Island of Haiti.

“Decisions have already been made which will militarize the humanitarian relief.”
One. Allow all Haitians in the US to work. The number one source of money for poor people in Haiti is the money sent from family and workers in the US back home. Haitians will continue to help themselves if given a chance. Haitians in the US will continue to help when the world community moves on to other problems.
Two. Do not allow US military in Haiti to point their guns at Haitians. Hungry Haitians are not the enemy. Decisions have already been made which will militarize the humanitarian relief – but do not allow the victims to be cast as criminals. Do not demonize the people.
Three. Give Haiti grants as help, not loans. Haiti does not need any more debt. Make sure that the relief given helps Haiti rebuild its public sector so the country can provide its own citizens with basic public services.
Four. Prioritize humanitarian aid to help women, children and the elderly. They are always moved to the back of the line. If they are moved to the back of the line, start at the back.
Five. President Obama can enact Temporary Protected Status for Haitians with the stroke of a pen. Do it. The US has already done it for El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Sudan and Somalia. President Obama should do it on Martin LutherKing Day.

Six. Respect Human Rights from Day One. The UN has enacted Guiding Principles for Internally Displaced People. Make them required reading for every official and non-governmental person and organization. Non governmental organizations like charities and international aid groups are extremely powerful in Haiti – they too must respect the human dignity and human rights of all people.
Seven. Apologize to the Haitian people everywhere for Pat Roberts and Rush Limbaugh.
Eight. Release all Haitians in US jails who are not accused of any crimes. Thirty thousand people are facing deportations. No one will be deported to Haiti for years to come. Release them on Martin Luther King day.
Nine. Require that all the non-governmental organizations which raise money in the US be transparent about what they raise, where the money goes, and insist that they be legally accountable to the people of Haiti.
Ten. Treat all Haitians as we ourselves would want to be treated.

If brother Martin were alive today he would say Mr. President, Barack Obama that 100 million dollars you have offered in the way of humanitarian assistance to the great people of Haiti is an embarrassment and extremely insufficient.
Furthermore Mr. President you are giving the state of Israel over 100 million dollars a month to continue with their genocidal campaign against the Arabs who live in the occupied territories and we are no closer to a (Two) state solution now than we were in 1947 or 1967 .
Mr. President I find the offer of one hundred million dollars to the people of Haiti appalling and outright sinister on the part of the United States of America."
How much did Obama give those crooked Bankers, financial thugs and gangsters on Wall Street ? So why can't the good old USA give the desperate people of Haiti more substantial assistance in order to saves lives is beyond my comprehension.
Where are all of those racists in Operation Rescue and the other duplicitious clowns in the Pro-Life Movement. Oh ! I get it you are only interesting in saving little white babies , infants and the unborn.
If this catastrophe(Earthquake) had happened in Ireland Obama and Biden would have been on Air-Force One with over 10 Billion dollars as down-payment to give the people in Ireland.
The U.S,Canada,France,Haiti's ruling elite families,the Haitian Army and other European nations and their Multi-Nationals Corporations have been robbing Haiti for the last 150 years and that's the reason why the U.S. and the west doesn't want to see any leader come to power in Haiti that will be accountable to people of Haiti. The U.S. , Canada and Euro powers only want to have their hand picked thugs running things in Haiti and they could care less about the Haitian people that's why our good friend Colin Powell and BushCo,Canada and France engineered the overthrow of Aristide. Aristide was all for the Haitian people and he demanded that those Robber Barons , IMF,World Bank, and their corporations pay Haitians $ 2.oo dollars a day for working in the sweat factories and other business's so that's why uncle Sam had him Aristide ousted because he was for self-determination for the Haitian people rather than nefarious thugs and Gestapo death squad like henchmen , and U.S. puppets that have run the country for the last one hundred twenty five years.
Please do not mention Colin Powell's name during this farce called Black History Month in February without a proper in-depth examination,investigation, of his role in taking down the first democratically elected government in Haiti of Mr. Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

Toussaint L'Ouverture and his great mulatto rival,General Rigaud,were both thrown in the same dungeon in France by Napoleon in 1802. Later at St. Helena,Napoleon declared that the imprisonment of Toussaint was a grave political error.
According to world renown historian J.A. Rodgers,Toussaint
L'Ouverture had planned after Haiti was freed to go to Dahomey,West Africa,and use it as a base from which to fight the slave trade. For this purpose Toussaint saved 6,000,000 gold francs,equivalent to that sum in dollars now,which he entrusted to Stephen Girard,an American ship captain.
After the treacherous capture of Toussaint,Girard would not turn over this money to Toussaint's family.
During his nine months imprisonment Toussaint was tormented by Napoleon's agents to reveal the hiding-place of the money. Later Girard,a Frenchman by birth became the richest American of his day. He left millions on his death in 1831 for the founding of Girard College in Philadelphia stipulating that it should be for whites only. Old man Girard gave money to buy coal for the poor of Philadelphia with the same racist provision.
According to blogger Black Buzz, Girard College was only integrated by court order in 1968 after years of massive and sometimes violent protests by Philadelphia's Black community. Even the great Rev.Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. protested with Philadelphia's Black community over the discriminatory admissions policies of Girard College.
Presently Girard is overwhelmingly Afro-American and the Philadelphia Phillie's were the last team in the National League to integrate their baseball team in 1957 a decade after Jackie Robinson broke the modern day color bar. And Jackie Robinson received his worst treatment from the Philadelphia players , coaches, fans,sport writers out of all the teams in the National League.
Philadelphia is MSNBC's Chris Matthew's city of"Brotherly Love ". All those racist Philly fans that called Richie Allen and Jackie Robinson every kind racial slur in the book are the same group of racists that moved into Suburbs of Philly and said they didn't want to swim with those Black and Hispanics kids last summer at that allegedly private club in a Philadelphia Suburb.

General Colin Powell, the first so-called Black U.S. Secretary of State has been nominated for induction into the Lawn-Jockey-Hall-Of-Fame located in Hot Water Mississippi. The Lawn-Jo
ckey-Hall -Of-Fame was previously located in Jump Back,Mississippi.
History will show and record that the first Black U.S.Secretary of State personally engineered the theft of the national sovereignty of Haiti ,the world's first Black republic and second nation in the western hemisphere to free itself from European rule. Such is Colin Powell's horrific legacy-an historic shame and blight on the collective honor of Black America.
The following excerpts have been taken from the leading authority on Haiti in the world,Randall Robinson from his excellent book titled "An Unbroken Agony. Haiti from Revolution to the kidnapping of a President.
"On February 29th,2004 the democratically elected president of Haiti,Jean-Bertrand Aristide,was forced to leave his country." The twice elected President was kidnapped,along with his Haitian-American wife,by American soldiers and flown against his will,to the isolated Central African Republic."
Although the American government has denied ousting Arisitide it was clear the Haitian people's most recent attempt at self-determination had not been crushed by Haitian paramilitaries as Washington claimed. Bush and Powell both lied.

Criterion for membership in the highly distinguished Lawn- Jockey- Hall-Of-Fame is one has to have a consistent proven demonstrated track record for being a sell out(House Servant) to your people,community,county, state , country and to other Black Nations in the African Diaspora. We accept Malcolm X's definition of a sell out and House Negro for membership into the Lawn-Jockey-Hall-Of Fame,now located in Hot Water Mississippi. Membership is open to all Political Parties,Organizations, and Individuals in the United States of America and abroad. Prep Football Recruits Should Avoid Going To The University Of Tennessee in Knoxville Tenn.

All of the University of Tennessee football recruits that have already enrolled at said institution should immediately withdraw from school. Further any Four or Five Star Prep recruits who were contemplating on attending or enrolling at the University of Tennessee should avoid that school as though it had the plague.
The University of Georgia in Athens Georgia and the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville Virginia are far better academic institutions than the University of Tennessee plus the fact you will have top-notch coaching staffs that are stable and reliable at Georgia and Virginia.
The NFL rosters are full of players from the University of Georgia and UVA.
One can rest assure that the University of Tennessee will probably be sanctioned by the NCAA for all types of on and off the field violations by the "Golden Boy " Lane Kiffin who abruptly left the University of Tennessee in Knoxville for the Golden State and USC.
I wouldn't have my dog attend the University of Tennessee nor that over-hyped surfing school on the west coast known as the University of Southern California.
Do those Four and Five Star recruits read and research before they make decisions to sign with certain schools ?
