The trip to the James Paige Learning Center in Wheeling, West Virginia was arranged by Steubenville, Ohio's first Black City Councilman, the late Ed Mixon who was also a member of the National Black Political Caucus.

The program was well attended and was a great learning experience for all from the very young to the seniors who experienced the life of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The Rev. Dr. Harold T. Lewis' speech hit all the high notes in capturing what Dr. King represented to the entire world in the struggle for freedom and for full human and civil rights.
