To Stage Annual Hill City Benefit

Spurred by the need of funds to continue its fight for prevention of juvenile delinquency, the Hill City Youth Municipality of Pittsburgh will stage a gala benefit show, its annual fund raising medium, Sunday, May 4, at midnight, at the Stanley Theatre, it was announced this week by Atty. Louis Little, president.
The organization, of which Mayor David L. Lawrence is honorary president is devoted to the prevention of juvenile delinquency throughout the city and has been cited by Director of Public Safety, George E. A. Fairley, for the outstanding work it has performed in combating crime throughout the Hill District.

FUNDS NEEDED
Funds are required to continue the project and Warner Brothers, through M.A. Silver, zone manager for all Warner Theaters in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia have donated the Stanley Theater for the midnight show.
All stage hands, artists, and stage craftsmen have volunteered their services so that all proceeds will aid Hill City in the prevention of juvenile delinquency. It was stated.
General admissions tickets for the giant stage show have been priced at
$ 1.20, including tax, while sponsor tickets are priced at $5.00 and $10.00, including tax. The purchase of a sponsor ticket is a direct contribution to Hill City above the purchase price of the general admission ticket, and these seats will be in the reserved section of the theater.
Tickets are now on sale at both the Warner and Stanley Theaters and at several outlets in the downtown area.

* Blogger Black Buzz notes that the Hill City Youth Municipality Program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was touted by national experts in the field of juvenile delinquency and crime prevention as the nation's most effective comprehensive program to reduce and eliminate juvenile crime in the country.
Every and any viable course of study on the history of Blacks in Pittsburgh or simply Pittsburgh history should include a significant chapter on the Hill City Youth Municipality and on the deeds of the women, men and youth who made this program a national sucess story.
