This is a letter my dad James S. Robinson Jr. who was the Director of The Hill City Youth Municipality, and Superintendent of The Friendly Service Bureau of the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety received as a response to his correspondence to the famous crime fighter Eliot Ness.
Note Eliot Ness became Director of the Government's Social Protection Program in 1942, after resigning from the position of Public Safety Director in the city of Cleveland Ohio.

Dear Mr. Robinson:
Your letter addressed to Mr. Eliot Ness, Director of the Division of Social Protection, has been referred to me for reply and action.
Since my area includes the City Of Pittsburgh, I am most interested in learning about your agency and its operations as it might effect the venereal disease control program. Needless to say, it will be extremely difficult to outline a program of methods used to combat venereal diseases without specific reference to your special interests. A comprehensive venereal disease program involves health, law enforcement, welfare, and other types of agencies each of which can engage in elaborate procedures which have direct bearing on the problem.
In all probabilities, I shall visit Pittsburgh some time during the month of March and would like very much to have the opportunity of meeting with you to discuss ways and means for enlisting your offer of cooperation. I will communicate with you as soon as I can set a definite date for a trip to your city.

Very truly yours,
Irving K. Furst
Regional Social Protection Representative

This continues to be a very interesting story. Mr. Thaw "Coach Tee" Washington and I spoke to Steeler Marketing Rep Lynn Molyneaux yesterday re the www.makeapac.org billboard which encourages crime witnesses to participate in the Witness Protection program. As a result Mr. Tee and I plan to participate in the October 25th Pittsburgh Board of Education Public Hearing
