One of the smartest things the Rooney family did was to hire the outstanding talents of Bill Nunn, Jr.  Bill Nunn Jr. is the person responsible for the Steelers drafting Joe Greene, LC, Greenwood, Dwight White, Fats Holmes, John Stallworth, Mel Blount, Donnie Shell ( Free Agent) Frank Lewis, Joe Gilliam, JT Thomas, and Robin Cole.  Three of Nunn's choices are in Canton, Ohio and Joe Greene, Fats Holmes, LC Greenwood , Dwight White, Mel Blount, and Donnie Shell were the nucleus of the Steelers famed Steel Curtain Defense.

This is the same Rooney family that cut Hall of Famers Johnnny Unitas, and Lenny Dawson.
Some football historians argue that the Rooney's simply didn't know talent but with the hiring of Charles Chuck Noll and Bill Nunn, Jr. that changed the public's perception of the Rooney's.
Prior to Noll and Bill Nunn, Jr, coming to the Steelers they were doormat of the league and cellar dwellers.
I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing Bill Nunn, Sr and Bill Nunn, Jr who both worked at the Pittsburgh Courier along with my late great mother Mrs Beatrice L. Saunders Robinson.

Bill Nunn, Jr, should be honored with the naming of a street in the area of Heinz Field for without Mr. Nunn Jr. the Steelers would have still have been a doormat of the league.
May I suggest Bill Nunn, Jr. Way.
