One of three racist white men charged with burning down a predominately Black church hours after Barack Obama was elected president pleaded guilty to civil rights charges in a plea deal that calls for him to spend nine years in prison. The racist coward Benjamin Haskell, 23 pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to violate civil rights and damaging religious property because of race, color, or ethnic characteristics. Sentencing was is set for Sept. 29. The fire destroyed a Springfield, Massachusetts, church early on Nov. 5, 2008
* The Editor, of the Black Buzz News Service states that the Black church has always been the most important independent institution in the Black community, and those cowards who would attack Blacks would often attack the sacred institution of the Black church.
As the Historian C. Eric Lincoln writes in his recent book, titled Coming Through the Fire: Surviving, Race and Place in America, the first recorded arson of a Black church took place in South Carolina in 1822.
White racist vicious cowards torched Black churches in Cincinnati in 1829 and in Philadelphia during the 1830's.
In the 1990's we witnessed an epidemic of Black church burnings throughout the United States, but the primary zone areas were as follows :
1. Tennessee
2. Alabama
3. Mississippi
4. North Carolina
5. South Carolina
6. Louisiana
* The predominately African American, Rodman Street Baptist Church located in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh PA was fire bombed in 1970 by allegedly unknown parties, and that investigation remains OPEN. Is the ATF, local police, or FBI still investigating this horrific incident? If anyone believes those agencies are still investigating the fire bombing of Rodman Street Baptist Church, I'll sell you all of the old bridges in Pittsburgh PA, and vicinity.
The typical pathological bigot arsonist is a white male between the ages of 14 to 45.
White racism is a disease, and the entire U.S environment is infected with this dreaded disease, and white supremacy is one of the the pathologies of this sickness.
I argued with professor Bobo of Harvard University at the National Conference on Race held in Pittsburgh PA. in June of the this year who stated that white racism was a wound. I informed Professor Bobo that racism is not a wound but it is a social/ mental disease that is deeply embedded into the DNA of this country and in the psychic of white America. I told Dr. Bobo there is vast difference in having an open or closed wound in comparsion to having a full blown disease. Nevertheless I had a very interesting and lively discussion with Dr. Bobo.
Anyone that attacks or destroys church property, or Set's a fire to a religious institution/church/ synagogue, mosque, needs to be (executed).
These nefarious arsonists are in the same class as perverts, pedophiles, rapists, child molester's, sexual offenders, who also should be executed with their first guilty offense.
The state and federal laws must be changed to reflect what is really going on in our society with the pervasiveness of crimes against religious institutions, and crimes against our innocent young people of both sexes.
I remember what happened to the four little Black girls, who were attending Sunday School at the Sixteenth Avenue Baptist Church in Birmingham Alabama on September 15, 1963 in which they were brutally murdered by cowardly racist savages. Twenty three other people were also injured as result of that dynamite blast. The then Governor of Alabama George Corley Wallace, had just informed the New York Times that"We need more first class funerals in the state of Alabama." However Governor Wallace was never indicted for inciting to riot or murder in the state of Alabama.
Those four beautiful Black girls were as follows :
