Virginia Tech Settlement Offer Is an Insult

The present Virginia Tech settlement offer is a blatant insult to all the families of the victims of the severe mentally ill person who perpetrated this horrific crime. The State of Virginia, under its current laws, is limited to paying victims of the Virginia Tech massacre only $100,000.00. Therefore, what is needed is for the Virginia Assembly, with the support of Governor Kaine, to pass a Special Act that would establish an adequate compensation fund for all the families at a minimum of one million dollars per family and not more than fifteen million dollars per family. Also note that no amount of money can compensate for the taking of a human life or the maiming or injury of a human being under any circumstances

It's ridiculous that the vtech victims are worthy of hundreds of thousands in financial compensation when the millions of other victims of gun crime are not compensated in kind. Are wealthy college kids worth more than the general population?
