Ronald B. Saunders, former Equal Employment Administrator and Salary Recruiter for Volkswagen of America, Inc. was nominated for an award for doing outstanding work and achievement in the EEO field, from Robert Pitts who was the executive director of the Black Catholic Ministries and Laymen's Council. But Mr. Saunders declined the award and informed Mr. Pitts that the Volkswagen team should receive the award.
