Does anyone believe that the Obama administration will be able to collect 16.4 Million Penalty against Toyota for basically lying about the recalls ?
I'll believe that when I see it.
The Transportation Department say's it's seeking the maximum penalty, more than 16 million, against Toyota for failing to promptly notify the government about defective gas pedals among many of it's poorly designed vehicles.
The fine would be the largest civil penalty ever issued to an automaker by the government.
According to Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood evidence shows that Toyota knew of the problem with sticking gas pedals in late September but did not issue a recall until late January.
How many citizens died as a result of the defective accelerator pedals in Toyota products from September 2009 to January 2010 ?
The attorney's representing the plaintiff's in the various legal challenges against Toyota around the USA should be able to obtain record breaking damage awards against those liars at Toyota.
The American Consumers should refrain from buying all Toyota products. Why should we reward a Corporation that blatantly lies and attempts to cover-up it's poorly designed and engineered products ?

I don't know about the government getting paid on this. But I do know that the families that had loved ones that were killed should be compensated as much as possible. This includes the family of a 21 year-old promising black college student from New York (Tyrene Livingston) who was killed in an accident caused by a defective Toyota. This actually happened on Route 30 near my old neighborhood in North Versailles, PA. Tragic.....
